Green Mandarin Synchiropus splendidus
One of the more popular fishes in the marine hobby, it has an unfortunate survival record among aquarists. This fish often starves in newly set up or sterile tanks. It must be kept in a well established aquarium with live substrate and plenty of hiding places. Will ignore other fish species but males will attack other males.
Challenging to feed. Must be provided with plenty of natural prey which include copepods in live rock and live sand. Will eat vitamin-enriched live brine shrimp and live black worms but does not fare well with competitors.
