Galaxy Coral Frag Galaxea spp.
Beautiful but fragile, these corals havea delicate skeletpn that have long thin corallites that are prone to fracture. Once established in an aquarium, they can grow substantially. They require frequent cleaning of the colony with a blast from a turkey baster or place them in surge or turbulent water areas. Galaxea are notorious for their ability to sting other invertebrates by extending long sweeper tentacles that can exceed 12 inches. Place them in the upper level of the reef to get maximum illumination and give them plenty of room to expand.
Have zooxanthellae but will benefit from feeding of small zooplankton or particulate material.
