Donut Coral - common Scolymia spp
An excellent choice for the beginner or advanced reef aquarist, the button coral is easy to maintain in the reef aquarium. It requires moderate lighting combined with moderate water movement. It is not an outwardly aggressive coral, but should be provided with plenty of space between itself and other corals because it can expand twice its size during the day.
Has zooxanthellae but can be fed. Feed at night for best results. Will take meaty foods, including mysids and diced fish.
