Open Brain Coral - Premium Trachyphyllia spp.
These solitary, often spectacular corals fluoresce under actinic lighting. Place on sand or in a sediment bed. Not suitable for a bare-bottomed tank. These are voracious feeders that are often adept at capturing small fishes. Centropyge angelfishes and tangs will often nip at and can kill them. They do not tolerate hermit crabs. Often two or more colors are found in one colony, and the furrows and walls of the valleys are differently colored. Will tolerate bright lighting, if gradually adapted to it.
Has zooxanthellae but must be fed. Will eat lots of food if it is offered.
Size: colonies to about 18 inches
Area of Collection: Indo-Pacific
