Sexy Shrimp Thor amboinensis
These unusual shrimps get their common name from their behavior of waving their abdomen about. In the wild these shrimps are found living in anemones but they do fine in reefs without anemones, taking up shelter in corals. Sexy Shrimps are tiny, typically around 1/4"-1/2". They prefer to be kept in groups of three or more, but also fare well singly. Like all shrimps, they require careful acclimation. Sensitive to changes in salinity and pH, always acclimate slowly.
Scavengers. These shrimp usually pick up leftover bits that fish don't eat. Their diet can be supplemented with mysis shrimp or brine shrimp or frozen preparations.
