McCullochi Dottyback Cypho purpurescens
Pseudochromis mccullochi
Previously known as Pseudochromis mccullochi, this rare species is occasionally imported from Australia and thrives in captivity. A smaller species, aquarium specimens are usually only 1.5"-2.5". Like most Pseudochromis, it can be aggressive towards small, similarly colored fishes unless kept in a large tank (e.g., 100 gal. or more). Very easy to feed, accepts most any food offered and is virtually indestructible.
Feed a variety of meaty items including mysis shrimp, vitamin enriched brine shrimp as well as frozen preparations.
