Marine Betta Calloplesiops altivelis
This exotic fish is chocolate brown with white spots on the head and body. This species is extremely hardy, rarely succumbing to disease or poor water quality. When initially introduced into the aquarium this fish is very shy. With time and conditioning, this fish will spend more time in view and some specimens will even beg for food when you approach the aquarium. However, it will spend more time in the open in a dimly-lit tank, at least initially. Keep in a tank with numerous nooks and crannies for it to hide in. Keep only one per tank, unless aquarium is very large. Will eat ornamental crustaceans.
Feed meaty items including mysis shrimp, vitamin enriched brine shrimp and frozen preparations.
