Euphyllia Coral - common

Euphyllia Coral - common

Euphyllia - ancora, cristata, divisa, glabrescens, paradivisa, panacora, yayamaensis

The branched tentacles form spheres at the ends, looking vaguely like a mass of amphibian eggs. The often greenish color of the polyps and tentacles tends to accentuate this resemblance. This species requires abotu the same aquarium conditions as other Euphyllia but does well in brighter indirect lighting than Hammer corals. Colors range from pinks to tans to greens. Needs moderate currents and produces long sweeper tentacles so take care in positioning this coral in the aquarium. Will do best in an aquarium without hermit crabs which may damage polyps.

Has zooxanthellae but can be fed meaty foods such as brine shirmp, mysid shrimp and krill.

Size: Colonies to 3.3 feet
