Cup Coral - Wild Turbinaria spp.
These corals require a good current to flush away mucous. Supplemental flushing with a turkey baster may be necessary if waste materials accumulate. If they are in good condition, the polyps extend regularly. Watching the polyps is a good indicator of tank conditions as they are very suceptible to changes in water quality. There are numerous species and growth forms. May grow as massive plates, heads or flattened branches. Require moderate lighting but flow is more important.
Have zooanthellae but can be fed with enriched baby brine shrimp, adult brine and other foods such as diced silversides.
