Fire Shrimp Lysmata debelius
A colorful addition to the aquarium this species provides parasite cleaning but not to the extent of its cousin L. amboinensis. Some fire shrimp may prey on polyps, a single individual in a small reef may seriously impact soft corals, small-polyped stony corals or zoanthid colonies. Provide a rocky cave or crevice for shelter. If kept in a brightly lit tank, this shrimp will likely be less visible. More active at night or in a dimly lit tank.
This shrimp is an efficient scavenger but will eat most aquarium foods.
