This species brilliant colors and modest size make it a hobbyist favorite. Without live rock and its associated populations of microinvertebrate fauna, members of this genus will usually starve to death.
Difficult to feed. House in a well-established tank, aquascaped with live rock and sand. Supplement with meaty foods, fresh or frozen seacfoods, frozen preparations for carnivores, mysid shrimp and live black worms. Feed several times a day depending on the amount of food provided by natural populations of organisms in the rock and sand.
