Schauinsland's Sand Perch Parapercis schauinslandi
This is one of the best sand perch species for the reef tank as it does not get as large as many in its clan and is less of a threat to invertebrates. It is alwo less aggressive toward fish tankmates, than many of its relatives. It can become more of a bully as it gets larger. Even small specimens may harass other bottom-dwelling fishes introduced to the tank after the sand perch is established, especially in a smaller aquarium. A small aggregation of these fish can be kept in a larger reef tank, but be sure to introduce all individuals to the aquarium simultaneously.
Feed meaty foods, including chopped seafood, mysid shrimp and frozen preparations for carnivores.
